Yard Sale Mania Saturday coming May 1; get ready

“Yard Sale” Mania Saturday, May 1st is fast approaching. Our staff members came up with the idea to capitalize on what should be the most active yard sales date of the spring calendar.
We promote it to highlight interest in our own Yard Sales ads in the classifieds and because it stimulates business in general. When people are out shopping at yard sales, they are out shopping everywhere else, also. Stir the pop and see what happens.

Judy Russell and the people of the Panola County Cancer Relief Organization have seized the opportunity. Russell got permission for the group to hold their yard sale on the Downtown Square. The Panola County Cancer Relief Organization raises money strictly to assist Panola County victims of cancer, she told aldermen while she was getting their permission to use the railside pavilion and surrounding area.

If you’re in the city, don’t forget to go by city hall to get a yard sale permit. It’s $2.

When you place your ad in The Panolian we’ll give you free “Yard Sale” signs.

Jump in, drag out your junk because someone will see it as their treasure and pay you to let them haul it off.

And if on May 1st the weather doesn’t cooperate, I’ll borrow words from that great American, Ted Lucas Smith: “In case of rain, you’ll get wet!”
