Visitation Wednesday

Visitation for Dennis Ray “DeDe” Fitts of Oxford will be from 4-7 p.m. at Coleman’s Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 13. Services will be held at Oxford’s First Baptist Church at 11 a.m. on January 14, with visitation before the service starting at 9:30 a.m.
Born in Pleasant Grove, he had lived in Oxford since 1984, where he served as supervisor of the Oxford Post Office and postmaster of the University Post Office. Fitts had also served as Batesville Postmaster during his tenure with the Postal Service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Arthur and Alyce Fitts of Pleasant Grove. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Beth Fitts; his two daughters, Lynndy Hurdle and Marni Herrington; his sons-in-law, Steven Hurdle and Thomas Herrington; and his two precious grandchildren, Ella Beth Hurdle, 4, and Carter Matthew Herrington, 9 months, all of Oxford. He is also survived by his brother, Jimmy Fitts of Olive Branch.
