Municipal offices in Sardis and Batesville will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and again Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.

Local banks will close Christmas Eve at noon and will re-open Monday.

Some customers of Panola County Solid Waste will see changes to their garbage pick-up schedule for the next two weeks.

The county will pick up Thursday customers on Wednesday, this week and next, along with regular Wednesday customers.

Solid Waste trucks will start their Thursday route after they finish Wednesday, explained a spokesman.

In Sardis, customers who are accustomed to the twice-a-week pick up will need to make sure their trash is out on Monday. There will be no Thursday pick-up the next two weeks.

The Batesville Post Office will close at 1 p.m. Thursday.

In Sardis, the Post Office will be closed Christmas Day.
