Entergy Mississippi is giving 20,000 free weatherization starter kits to residential and small business customers.

Why? To help them save on electric bills by giving them basic tools to make wiser energy choices.

It’s part of a pilot program called “Simple Steps.”

To participate, customers must complete a home or small-business energy assessment online and a short pop-up survey at entergy-mississippi.com.

We’ll then mail them a weatherization kit, while supplies last. Kits include caulk, vinyl door sweeps, air filter whistles, CFL bulbs and other things that can be easily used to lower energy use.

We want to show that using energy wisely is easy and affordable.

These kits will give customers hands-on experience with basic, affordable energy-efficiency items that are available at many major retail stores. After using the kits, they’ll know just what to shop for to continue their efforts.

Energy efficiency offers significant benefits– lower bills, lower power demands, higher reliability and a potential increase in a home’s resale value.

We’re fortunate to be enjoying continued low electric bills, in part due to low natural gas prices. Entergy Mississippi also works hard day after day to keep customers’ bills as low as possible, and this is one more way.
