Batesville Lions Club Christmas Parade chairman Jerry Lightsey has announced contingency plans for the Tuesday, Dec. 8 parade in case heavy rains now forecast materialize.

The decision about whether the Batesville parade will be held starting at 6:30 p.m. as scheduled on Tuesday or whether it will be moved to the Sunday, Dec. 13 rain date will be announced by 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, Lightsey said. The determination must be made before school is released, he added.

The decision will be announced on radio station WBLE and published at panolian.com.

If the parade is rescheduled until Sunday, it will start at 3 p.m., the parade chairman said.
