Joe Louis Bobo

SARDIS— Joe Louis Bobo, 71, died Wednesday, November 11, 2009, at his residence.

Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Harlem Harris will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held today from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Cooley’s Mortuary has charge.

Bobo, born April 18, 1938, to the late Ira Lee Bobo and Gladys Avant Bobo, was a retired truck driver.

Survivors include: his wife, Palestine Bobo of Sardis; four daughters, Diane Harris of Louisville, Ky., Sylvia Partee Chamberlain of Cahokia, Ill., Sarah Ann Yancey of Southaven and Shalamar Bobo of Chicago; four sons, Joe Willie Bobo of Sardis, Sammie Bobo of Senatobia, Ronical Wilson of Memphis and Danny Bobo of Jacksonville, Fla.; five sisters, Ruby Jean Pride, Bonnie Bobo, Emma Jerldean Bobo and Barbara Ann McGill, all of Sardis, and Nellie Deloris Roberson of Gary, Ind.; two brothers, Robert Lee Bobo and Charles Edward Bobo, both of Sardis; 43 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.

Dell King Jr.

CHICAGO, Ill.— Dell King Jr., 56, formerly of Batesville, died Friday, November 6, 2009, at his residence.

Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at West Springhill M.B. Church in Oxford. Rev. John Crowder will officiate. Burial will be held in the church cemetery.

Visitation is today from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Cooley’s Mortuary has charge.

King was born in December of 1952, to the late Dell King Sr. and Ella B. Parham.

Survivors include: his wife, Harriet Houston King of Chicago; one daughter, Camille W. King of Chicago; one step-daughter, Ingrid Houston of Chicago; one step-son, Bradley Houston of Chicago; three sisters, Genice King Ivy, Shirley Mitchell and Bernice Jones, all of Oxford; one brother, David L. King of Oxford; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Luella E. Stone

BATESVILLE.— Luella E. Stone, 73, died in an automobile accident on November 11. Funeral arrangements were incomplete at press time. Cooley’s Mortuary has charge of arrangements.
