Steelers play for back-to-back titles

The 11- and 12-year-old Batesville Steelers will play tomorrow in the Super Bowl. The game is slated for 12:30 p.m. at Robert H. Dunlap Stadium.

The Steelers are trying to become the first team in league history to repeat as back-to-back champions.

The Steelers are led on offense by a bunch of “Wildcats” including quarterback Tyler Pogue, running back Oluwain Hoskins, tight end/quarterback Travis Powell, split end Jaylon Ford, offensive tackle Taiwan Obey and wide receiver Draylong Porter.

On defense the Steelers are led by defensive tackles Braden Scott and Rodney Show and linebackers Brandon Leland, Anthony Agate and Kendarius Chapman.

Director Fred Hentz, coaches Eric Bibbs, Tavares Lee, Roosevelt Jones, James Dean, Kendrick Keys, Travis Sanford, Steve Wigley and Harry Joe Hentz ask all Steeler and Tiger fans to come out and get a good look at the future Tigers.

Fred Hentz said, “The future is very bright and promising. We would like to take time to tell everyone in Panola County thanks for all of your support. See you all on Saturday.”

Saturday’s schedule is 7- and 8-year-old Clarksdale vs. Oxford at 10 a.m.; 9- and 10-year-old Greenwood vs. Oxford at 11:15 a.m.; And 11- and 12-year-old Clarksdale vs. Batesville at 12:30 p.m.
