Graves golf tournament set

The Panola Country Club will be the site of the first annual Whitten Graves Memorial Golf Tournament.

The tournament will be held Saturday, October 3 in a three person 27-hole mixed format.

Registration will be held from 9 to 9:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.

The lineup includes Chicago 4 Ball (9 Holes) at 10 a.m.; Lunch (provided) and Flighting from 12 – 1 p.m.; Shotgun start, Scramble Front 9 & Chicago Back 9 at 1 p.m.

There will be on-course prizes for the following: Longest Drive on #4; Longest Putt on #9; Chances to Hit Circle #11; and Closest to Pin #14.

Entry fee is $150 per team and the field is limited to the first 36 paid teams.

1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes will be awarded in each flight.

There will be special tees for seniors over 65.

Proceeds from this tournament will go toward a scholarship to be given in Whitten Graves’ name to a senior at Magnolia Heights.

Also, anyone who wants to can make a donation to Whitten Graves Scholarship Fund.

All donations are tax deductible if check is made payable to Whitten Graves Scholarship Fund.
