Sharon Lynell Cummins

BATESVILLE— Sharon Lynell Cummins, 39, died Monday, August 17, 2009, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center.

Everta Partee

SARDIS— Everta Partee, 89, died Saturday, August 8, 2009, at Tri Lakes Hospital.

Services were Saturday at Viney Creek M.B. Church. Rev. Ozine Thomas officiated. Burial was in Viney Creek Church Cemetery. Henderson Funeral Home had charge.

Partee, born Dec. 25, 1919, to the late Horce Ellis and Lizzie Ellis, was a homemaker and a member of Viney Creek M.B. Church.

Survivors include: five daughters, Catherine Partee of Sardis, Mary Partee Mabry of Senatobia, Lizzie Anderson of Alanta, Eva Partee and Doris Partee, both of Chicago; four sons, Willie Partee of Marion, Ark., Charlie Partee, Fred Partee and John Partee, all of Sardis.

William Jahue Pruett

SHUBUTA— William Jahue Pruett, 72, died Tuesday, August 11, 2009.

Services were Friday at Faith Baptist Church in Lambert. Rev. Bobby Bell officiated. Burial was in Crowder Cemetery. Kimbro Funeral Home had charge.

Pruett was born March 29, 1937, in Darwin, to George Pruett and Rachel Neal Pruett.

Survivors include: three daughters, Rebecca Lynn Pruett, Peggy Raymond and Donna Harrison; six sons, Michael Jahue Pruett, Tracy Eugene Pruett, Jackie Ray Pruett Sr., Robert Sanderson, James Miles and Billy Miles; three sisters, Irene Smith and Peggy Clemmer, both of Lambert, and Lorene Morgan of Marks; six brothers, Gene Golden and Vernon Golden, both of Crowder, Junior Golden of Oakland, C.W. Pruett of Falkner, Floyde Golden of South Lake and John Golden of Batesville; 21 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Ronald Wayne Smith

POPE— Ronald Wayne Smith, 67, died Monday, August 17, 2009, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi from complications following  a surgery.

No services were held.

Smith, born April 28, 1942, in Memphis, to the late Frank Smith and Mae Smith, was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from the Batesville National Guard.

Survivors include: two sons, Jeff Smith of Como and Paul Smith of Pope; one daughter, Janet Rast Williams of Germantown, Tenn. and three grandchildren, Micheal Smith, Elizabeth Rast and Llana Williams.

John Casey Jackson

 
DARLING— John Casey Jackson, 37, formerly of Batesville, died Thursday, August 13, 2009, in Memphis.

Memorial services were held Saturday at Marks Baptist Church.

Jackson, born Feb. 25, 1972,  in Clarksdale, to Tina and James Odis Jackson of Darling, graduated from South Panola High School in 1990. He was an avid music fan and played the drums.

Survivors along with his parents include: his daughter, CiCi Jackson-Carver of Batesville; two sisters, Malinda Jackson Sharp and Lisa Jackson Miller; one brother, James Andrew “Andy” Jackson II; his grandmother, Guinelle Jackson;  and one niece: Meghan Dawn Linton.
