Lady Wave Softball

The North Delta Green Wave softball team finalized a long day Saturday afternoon by finishing runner-up in the Kirk tournament.
The Wave played six games on the afternoon with the first game starting at 9 a.m. and ending at 10 p.m. with a 2-0 loss to Bayou in the championship contest.
North Delta, (6-3), defeated Magnolia Heights 1-0 behind the pitching of Mary Jane Morrow and Samantha Massoth who pitched two innings each.
Following a 2-1 loss to Bayou, the Green Wave bounced back to win three straight to reach the championship game. Laci DuBravec had two hits in the loss.
Hillari Plummer and Bradi Beard each went 2-for-3 as North Delta blanked Carroll 5-0 with Morrow picking up the pitching win. The Lady Wave then blanked Magnolia Heights once again 1-0 followed by a 13-1 trouncing of Kirk.
The Lady Wave will open up district play today at 5 p.m. by hosting Kirk then will entertain Pillow tomorrow starting at 4 p.m. with the junior varsity followed by the varsity at 5.
