Newly-elected municipal officials will be sworn in the first week of July.

Como

The Town of Como will kick-off the swearing in ceremonies Thursday, July 2 at Town Hall. A time has not been determined.

Those taking the oath of office will be Clark Gregory (Ward 1), Bill Mitchell (Ward 2), Ruby Higgenbottom (Ward 3), Everett Hill (Ward 4), Dr. Forster Ruhl (Alderman-at-Large) and Mayor Judy Sumner.

Batesville

The City of Batesville Mayor and Board of Alderman will be next to take the oath of office when aldermen Bill Dugger (Ward 1), Ted Stewart (Ward 2), Stan Harrison (Ward 3), Eddie Nabors (Ward 4), Teddy Morrow (Alderman-at-Large) and Mayor Jerry Autrey are sworn at City Hall on July 3 at 10 a.m.

Sardis

Sardis officials will take the oath of office at the Hefflin House Museum at 6 p.m. that night. Those being sworn in are Joseph “JoJo” Still (Ward 1), Clarence ‘Boo Boo’ Jones (Ward 2), Mike Wilson (Ward 3), Rivers McArthur (Ward 4), Roy Scallorn (Alderman-at-Large) and Mayor Alvis “Rusty” Dye.

Crenshaw

Crenshaw will swear in new Mayor Oscar Barlow and aldermen Patricia Dodson (Ward 1), David Whitsell (Ward 2), Alberta Bradley (Ward 3), Wardell Reed (Ward 4) and Ronnie Perry (Ward 5) at the Baptist Church on Highway 310 at 6 p.m. on July 6.

Courtland

Courtland will swear in town officials July 7 prior to the regular board meeting.

Those being sworn will be Gerald Aven Jr., Clifford “Topper” Olson, Keith Payne, Mary Katherine Bagland and Carolyn Kilgore as aldermen and Debbie Aven as mayor.

Pope

Town leaders in Pope will be sworn in at Town Hall on July 6 at 6 p.m.

Larry “Bud” Fisher, Kenneth “Ken” Powell, Ricky Brown, Farris “Bud” Green and W.T. Rikard will be sworn as aldermen and Ricky Briscoe will be sworn in for his second term as mayor.

Crowder

In Crowder, newly-elected officials will be sworn in July 2 at town hall at 6 p.m.

The mayor is Stephen W. Stanton. Aldermen are Russell Cox, Peggy Griffin, Libby Moore, Anderson Rico and Ollie Walker.
