It was up, up and away as North Delta defeated Tunica 10-4 Monday and Marvell 16-0 Tuesday to remain undefeated in the district 9-0. The Green Waves are the 1-1A District Champs. The Panolian photo by Glennie Pou
South Panola softball
The 2-5A softball game between South Panola and Columbus is back on. The forfeit by Columbus was not accepted by the Mississippi High School Activities Association. The game will be played Thursday at 3 p.m. South Panola varsity will play Desoto Central in a second game.
The bracket for Saturday’s playoff game will not be officially set until South Panola and Columbus play this final district game.
Tentatively, the schedule is set for Desoto Central and Grenada to play the first game at 10 a.m., followed by South Panola and the winner of the first game. That game will be followed by a third game in which the losers in each game will face off.
The final of the first round tournament will be played on Tuesday. The two winners will face off in a game. Time to be announced later.
South Panola baseball
Due to the forecast of inclement weather Thursday, the South Panola varsity baseball team will host Columbus in a district game at 4 p.m. If there is time and the weather holds off, the jr. varsity will play afterwards.
North Delta Baseball
North Delta varsity baseball team will play Delta in a district game at 5 p.m. Only one game will be played.
