The 2009 baseball season got off to a rocky start for North Delta School as the Green Wave were blanked 8-0 by Kirk Tuesday night.
North Delta was held to only two hits by Raider pitching in the game as Ethan Taylor and Bailey Guckert each singled. Taylor took the loss by going four innings while striking out two and walking one.
Bateman Greenlee worked the final two innings on the hill, fanning two and allowing no walks.
The Green Wave stranded six runners on base while committing two errors.
North Delta, which opened their home slate yesterday against Lee Academy, will take on Marshall Academy in the morning at 11 a.m in Senatobia on the campus of Northwest Community College. The Wave will then square off against either Marshall or Magnolia Heights at 1:15 p.m.
