George Kenneth “Frog” Alford

BATESVILLE– George Kenneth “Frog” Alford, 74, died Saturday, July 12, 2008, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi.

Services were Monday at Wells Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Raymond Aven officated. Burial was in Curtis Union Cemetery. Wells Funeral Home had charge.

Alford, born Jan. 23, 1934, in Carthage to the late James E. Alford and the late Jenny Quick Alford, was retired from Poloron and the retired owner of Alford Grocery in Curtis. He was a United States Army veteran.

Survivors include: his wife, Lesa McCain Alford of Batesville; two daughters, Deborah Alford Brewer and Margaret Alford Nix, both of Batesville; one son, Kenneth W. Alford of Batesville; two sisters, Melba Alford Eichelberger of Walnut Grove and Nancy Alford Greer of Carthage; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
