SP baseball wins tourney

The South Panola summer baseball team won the New Albany Tournament last week, going undefeated 5-0 for the weekend.

The Tigers played New Hope for the championship Sunday and won 7-5.

Ethan Bright got the win.

From this past baseball season, South Panola players were honored for their efforts on the field.

In the All-Chickasaw Athletic Conference, Heath Bolton was chosen for his work as a pitcher and in the outfield. David Renfroe received honors as a pitcher and shortstop.

Bright was tapped for his first base play and Mitchell Houston was chosen for his catcher duties.

The South Panola summer baseball team will be off until school is out. The next game is Tuesday, May 29 at Magnolia Heights in Senatobia. The doubleheader is slated for 5 and 7 p.m.
