David Lee Black,  74, passed away Wednesday night, April 28, 2021, at his home near Sardis.

A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 1, at Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Sardis, with Rev. Tim Ellis officiating. The family will receive friends at Wells Funeral Home beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.

David was born on Feb. 22, 1947, to the late Edward David Black and Lillie Mae Dover in Panola County. He was a handyman during his lifetime, and will be missed by his friends and family.

The family he leaves behind includes his three sisters, Geraldine Black Brown of Pope, Wanda Black Melton of Pope,  and Doris Black McMinn of Batesville.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Deloris Black Gordon and Dorothy M. Jaudon.
