Irene Burt,  87, passed away at her home near Batesville Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2020.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 4, 2020 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service. The interment will be at Crowder Cemetery.

The family asks that all friends and family attending the funeral and visitation for Ms. Irene to please wear a mask upon entering the funeral home.

Irene was born on March 17, 1933 to the late Elbert Jefferson Ray and Mittie Mae Stacy Ray Boyette in Tutwiler. She was a member of the Locke Station Baptist Church. Irene had a special love for flowers and gardening. She starting her floral business with her own shop in Grenada, MS at Grenada’s Flower Basket. She also worked at a flower shop in Marks and then worked out of her home. Irene also kept children at home for many years. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and quilting in her spare time. Irene was always taking care of others and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

The loving family she leaves behind includes her daughters, Patsy Bruner of Madison, Sharlene Ware (Ricky) of Batesville,  and Darlene Calvert (Jack) of Crowder; one son, Garry Adams (Sharon) of Richland; two sisters, Betty Jean Tutor, and Vonnie Johnson both of Batesville; one brother, Tommy Boyette also of Batesville; 16 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 26 great-great grandchildren, and great-great great grandchild.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, R.V. Burt; her father, Jimmy “Billbo” Newton Boyette; one daughter, Sherry Jean Marberry; one son, Dale Burt; two sisters, Agnes Ray Watson and Connie Boyette; three brothers, Jessie Boyette, Ernest Ray, Eugene Ray, David Boyette, and Jimmy Boyette; one grandson, Robby Schmitz; one granddaughter, Renea Maynard Lee; and one great granddaughter, Amanda Dolden.
