Staff Report
Explorer’s Bible Study (EBS) is holding its 2019 National Conference in Batesville this weekend.
Over 200 members of EBS from around the country will gather at First Baptist church on Panola Avenue to be united, encouraged, inspired and equipped through messages, times of training and fellowship.
The conference started on Thursday for teachers and opens today at noon for the general public. Everyone interested in attending is welcome. Participants may attend part, or all, of the conference.
There will be speaker this afternoon and tomorrow (July 27).
Attendees will enjoy two meals and hear from several keynote speakers, including Batesville’s Marni McKenzie. Other speakers will be Bruce Fong, dean of Dallas Theological Seminary in Houston, Tex., and Mike Harding of Franklin, Tenn., the executive director of Explorer’s Bible Study.
Mike Harding, executive director of Explorer’s said, “EBS is 99 percent volunteer led. We have many Bible study classes that meet in communities across the country. Each encourages people in their walk with God through in-depth study. These classes are interdenominational and gather together believers and seekers who want to study the Bible from many churches. Christians in communities united at a host church weekly and are led by wonderful leaders who volunteer their time, money and energy to make the classes happen. This conference is a chance for many of them to connect and get refreshed as the new study year will begin in the fall.”
