Tigers land five on all-district team

Five South Panola Tigers were named to the Region 2-6A All-district team recently voted on by league coaches.
Senior catcher and Northeast Mississippi Community College Braydyn Lee hit .276 for the Tigers with 16 RBI’s, with nine doubles and two home runs.
Freshman left fielder Mari Boyd earned all-district honors for the second straight year after hitting .348 this past season while leading the team in runs (29) and stolen bases(13) to go along with 17 RBI’s.
Junior 3B/P Bowen Williams drove in 28 runs with four doubles and one home run while batting .296 on the year. Williams appeared in eight games on the mound with a 2.47 earned run average and one save
Sophomore SS/P Dawson Griffin drove in 11 runs with three doubles and a triple while while hitting at a .315 clip.
Griffin was 6-2 on the mound with a 1.96 earned run average while striking out 43 batters and 20 walks in 39.1 innings.
Senior P/1B Blaine Ware led South Panola in batting average,(.372) RBI’s (30) doubles (11) and home runs (3).
Ware compiled a 7-1 pitching record with a earned run average of 0.14 after giving up one earned and walking three batters in 51 innings and was also named the Region’s player-of-the-year.
