South Panola ends regular season 20-5

The South Panola Tigers ended their regular season on a positive note by defeating Senatobia 7-4 Tuesday in Senatobia.

The Tigers (20-5) jumped out to a 5-0 lead after two innings before holding off a late Senatobia surge.

South Panola scratched across three runs in the top of the first then added two more in the second.

Senatobia closed the margin to 5-3 in the fourth and looked to add more but left the bases loaded in the inning.

Gage Heath drove in two runs with a single and double to lead South Panola at the plate.

Braydyn Lee added a double and a solo home run to lead off the sixth inning. Bowen Williams, Wes Morgan, and Dre’  Moore contributed singles.

Leadoff hitter Mari Boyd reached base four times, three via getting hit by a pitch and scored two runs.

Blaine Ware drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the second to plate courtesy runner Keshaun Lantern.

Brandon Phelps pitched three innings to  pick up the pitching victory.

Luke Weldon tossed 2 2/3 innings in relief while Ware fanned two pitching a scoreless seventh inning.

Caleb White returned to the lineup after  missing three weeks with a broken nose and pitched 1/3 of a inning.

South Panola hosts Lafayette County tomorrow in a non-scheduled game with first pitch slated for noon.
