Donald M. Bridges, 84, died Wednesday, Feb.13, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. Funeral arrangements were incomplete at time of publication and will be announced by Wells Funeral Home.

Taplis Butler

Funeral services for Taplis “Tap” Butler, 50, will be held Saturday, Feb. 16, at 11 a.m at Macedonia M.B. Church with Pastor Zannie Leland officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He died Feb. 6, 2019, at his home in Statesville, N.C. He was born Sept. 26, 1968, in Batesville to Wesley and Flora Baker Butler. He attended South Panola Schools.

Mr. Butler was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a truck driver.

Visitation will be today (Feb. 15) from 10 a.m to 6 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary.

 

 

Lucille Draper, 95, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2019, at her home in Sardis.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 23, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Gillion M.B. Church with pastor O’dell Draper officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

The family will receive visitors at Cooley’s Mortuary on Friday, Feb. 22, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

She was born Nov. 1, 1923, in Batesville to John Q. Adams and Ruthie Rudd.

Ms. Draper was a homemaker. She was a member of Mt. Gillion Church.

 

 

Robbie Lynn Frazier, 59, of Batesville, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2019, at Diversicare in Batesville.

She was born June 5, 1959, to the late Barbara Ann McGregor Crumpler and Charles Robert Crumpler. A retired beautician and barber, she ran the former historical Parks Barber Shop on the Oxford Square for many years.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 16,  at 2 p.m. at First Faith Baptist Church near Batesville. The family will receive friends on Saturday, in the church, from 1 p.m. until service time.

Dickins Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

 

 

Funeral services for L.P. Jackson, 75, will be Sunday, Feb. 17, at 1 p.m. at Zion Hill M.B. Church in Coldwater with burial in the church cemetery under the direction of Felix Cauthen Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday from 4-6 p.m. at Felix Cauthen.

Mr. Jackson died Feb. 5, 2019, at Baptist DeSoto Hospital in Southaven.

 

 

Funeral services for Mary Ann Holt Lark, 56, of Como will be held Saturday, Feb. 16, at noon at Hammond Hill M.B. Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be today (Feb 15) from 4-6 p.m. at Felix Cauthen Funeral Home.

She died Feb. 11, 2019, at her home.

Mrs. Lark is survived by her mother, Idell Holt, and a son, Jamarious J. Holt, both of Como.

 

 

Gloria Catherine Crossnine Vanderburg, 94, of Crenshaw, passed away Feb. 10, 2019, at Panola Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Marion Vanderburg; her parents, Mike and Catherine Crossnine and sister, Victoria Conna Crossnine Linderman.

She is survived by her sons, Larry Francis Vanderburg of Crenshaw, Miss. and Jerry Eugene Vanderburg (Phyllis) of Franklin, Tenn.; sister, Rose Marie Crossnine Ray of Memphis; brothers, Hurbert Crossnine (Becky) of Memphis, and Raymond Crossnine of Griffin, Ga.; brothers-in-laws, Benny Linderman of Memphis, and Fred Vanderburg (Phyllis) of Olive Branch; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. Vanderburg was a member of Sees Chapel Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Crenshaw Baptist Church. Visitation was held at Crenshaw Baptist Church Thursday, Feb. 14, at noon with services at 1 p.m. Burial followed in Longtown Cemetery.
