Eight plead guilty in court

Judge Charlie Baglan accepted eight guilty and three not guilty pleas during Wednesday’s session of Batesville Municipal Court.
Madyson Rowsey, 566 Herron Rd., Courtland and Robert T. Porter, 5211 Nash Rd., Batesville, pleaded guilty to simple possession of marijuana and face the $443 fine due in 30 days.
Euniqua Rounds, 854 Telegraph, Grenada, pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana in a vehicle and speeding 38 MPH in a 25 MPH zone. Rounds has 30 days to pay the $829 fine.
Jeremy Parker, 114 Patterson St., Batesville, pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana in a vehicle and has old fines.
Parker was ordered to pay the total $1,010 fine in 30 days.
Marshall Tutor, 208 Miller St., Batesville, pleaded guilty to possession of paraphernalia and was credited with time served after serving one week in the Panola County Jail. Tutor was being held at the jail for further investigation into other charges, according to Detective George Williford. No other charges were filed.
James V. Moore II, 60 Musgrove Rd., Batesville, pleaded guilty to simple possession of marijuana and DUI other and was sentenced to attend MASEP classes. Moore faces a $1,226 fine.
Pricilla Brown, 1030 Rice Ave., Lambert, pleaded guilty to shoplifting and has 30 days to pay the $1,146 fine.
Kutina Govan, 105 Gracie Cv., Batesville, was charged with contempt of court for old unpaid fines from June 2017 in the amount of $605. The fine is to be paid in 30 days.
Margaret Daugherty, 215-B Eureka St., Batesville, pleaded not guilty to animal cruelty. A trial has been set for May 23.
Henry Patterson, 318 Patton Ln., Batesville, pleaded not guilty to a citation in regard to the saggy pants ordinance. If found guilty, the fine is $50.
Taurus Parker, 1721-B Shiloh Rd., Courtland, pleaded not guilty to shoplifting. The case is set to go to trial June 6.
Amanda Taylor, 101 Goodhaven Rd., Batesville, pleaded not guilty to domestic violence simple assault. The case is set to go to trial June 6.
Tonya Weathersby, 523 Woodland Rd., Batesville, had a charge of DUI refusal non-adjudicated and two other charges, open container and careless driving, remanded to the files. Weathersby faces a $1,271 and MASEP classes.
Andrea C. Amro, 55 Holland Rd., Tillatobia, failed to appear to answer charges of shoplifting. A warrant was issued for Amro’s arrest.
Timothy R. Kelley, 598 Lee St., Sardis, failed to appear for a third time to answer for charges of shoplifting. A warrant was issued for Kelley’s arrest.
Jeremy Ellis, 719 Bethlehem Rd., Sardis, failed to appear to answer charges for domestic violence simple assault. Judge Baglan issued a summons for Ellis to appear at a trial on June 6 or a warrant will be issued.
Michael Franklin, 1991 CR 105, Water Valley, was charged with domestic violence simple assault. The case will be continued on June 20.
Brett Kimzey, 1436 Terza, Batesville, was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, driving while license suspended, and improper equipment. The case has been continued due to medical reasons.
