James Franklin Gulledge

PITTSBORO–James Franklin Gulledge, Sr., 80, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2017, at Yalobusha Nursing Home in Water Valley.
He was born Monday, December 21, 1936 in Big Creek, Mississippi. He was the son of the late Walter Gulledge and the late Ora Cantrell Gulledge.
He was a member of Pittsboro First Baptist Church and a past member of Pittsboro Volunteer Fire Department. James loved spending time with his family, gardening, eating catfish and collecting dimes.
Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Sadie McInnis Gulledge of Pittsboro; two sons, James Franklin (Melanie) Gulledge, Jr. of Madison and Christopher (Gracie) Gulledge, Sr. of Batesville; a daughter, Rachel Suzanne Ingle of Calhoun City; a brother, Robert Earl “Bobby” Gulledge, Sr. of Calhoun City; six grandchildren, Stephanie Paige Ingle, Kristen Grace Gulledge, Christopher Joseph Gulledge, Jr. Jameson Noah Gulledge, Nicholas Cale Ingle and Johnathan Abram Bryant Gulledge.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Alvin Ray Gulledge and George Arnold Gulledge and two sisters, Louise Ritchie and Jessie Mae Reedy.
A funeral service was held at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Robert Earl Alexander officiating. Interment was in Pittsboro Cemetery in Pittsboro. Pallbearers are Landon Adams, Chris Gulledge, Jr., Steve Ingle, Jessie Lindsay and Frank Villegas.

Jessie B. Orr

BATESVILLE–Mr. Jessie B. “Pop” Orr, 78, died at Panola Medical Center on November 5, 2017.
Visitation will be Friday, November 10, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary in Batesville. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 11, at 2 p.m. at Cooley Mortuary Chapel. Pastor Rubert Morgan will officiate. Interment will be in Spring Hill Pope Church Cemetery in Pope.
Mr. Orr was born March 24, 1939 to Jiecs Orr and Annie Mae Durton Morgan. He was a mechanic at John Deer Company
Those he leaves behind to cherish his memory include two sons, Charles Edward Orr of Batesville and Terry McComb of Marks; one daughter, Dorothy Ann Armstead of Sardis; one brother, Rufus Morgan of Batesville, three sisters, Retha Morgan of Batesville, Ruthie Ford of Batesville, Rosie Fox of Memphis, nine grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren.

James Gordon Wright

ELLISVILLE–James Gordon Wright, 70, died Friday, November 03, 2017 after a lengthy illness.
Visitation will be held Sunday, November 12, from 1-2:30 p.m. at Ellisville Funeral Home with a memorial service to following at 2:30. Dr. Dwight Smith will officiate.
Mr. Wright was born January 31, 1947 to the late William Wright and Countiss Wright of Batesville.
He was a businessman, Rotarian, and member of First Methodist Church.
