Two referred to grand jury during municipal court

Judge Bill McKenzie bound a Batesville man over to the grand jury during Batesville Municipal Court for felony charges.
Cleve Gale Jr., 102 Hoskins Rd., Batesville, was bound over to the grand jury for possession of controlled substance with intent, simple possession of marijuana (proximity of school or church enhancement). His original bond was set at $15,000.
After requesting a bond reduction. His request was granted and his bond was set at $7,500.
Jarvis Frison, 92 Hawkins Rd., Courtland, bonded out prior to court for felony possession of controlled substance, simple possession of marijuana, DUI-second (refusal), speeding, driving while license suspended and switched tag. He was bound over to the grand jury.
Walter Henry, 1255 Hunters Trace, Batesville, entered a guilty plea to simple assault by shooting a pistol in the ground by affiant, Shatavis Robinson’s feet.
“Why does a big ole man like yourself have to shoot a pistol at a woman’s feet for?” the judge asked.
Henry shrugged his shoulders saying, “I don’t know.”
“Whose pistol is it? “the judge asked.
“It’s not mine,” he replied.
“You need to get rid of the pistol,” the judge said.
Henry was fined $328.
Fredrick D. Moore, 202 Deaton, Batesville, entered a guitly plea to possession of marijuana in a vehicle. He was fined $683 due in 30 days.
Andrew Elmore, 9927 Eureka Rd., Batesvile, entered a not guilty plea to harassment filed by affiant Tanner Atkinson.
A trial was set for December 7.
Iesha K. Walters, 104 Autumn St., Batesville, entered a guilty plea to disorderly conduct-failure to comply.
She also had old fines of $656 due since March 2015. Total fines of $1,303 are due within 30 days.
A warrant was issued for Bobby Earl Jones, 1791 Gin Rd., Batesville, after he failed to appear in court for a thid time to answer charges for false information.
Keldrick Henderson, 112 Williams, Batesville, failed to appear to answer charges for possesion of a stolen firearm.
Clarence Hardrick, 207 George Thomas, Batesville, had a case for DUI-second, driving while license suspended (implied consent), driving while license suspended, no tag and old fines of $1,986 continued.
Annette Flowers, 106 Flowers Rd., Pope, was found guilty of no headlights and driving while license suspended. She was fined $536.
Deitra J. McLarty, 2015 McKinney Rd., Sardis, was found guilty for open container. She was fined $327.
Stacy Watters, 431 Tubbs Rd., Batesville, was found guilty of DUI-refusal and careless driving after a short trial.
Mr. Watters admitted to the judge that the officer’s testimony was correct.
“I appreciate your attitude and honesty. It makes my job a lot easier,” the judge said.
Watters was fined for the DUI and not the careless driving. Making his initial fine of $944 equal $734.
Dorothy Dye, 1420 Grant Rd., Batesville, entered a non adjudication plea to DUI-refusal, open container and careless driving. She was fined $1,271.
