South Panola High School seniors Mallory Myers and Tripp Still were recently named Wendy’s High School Heismans for their efforts in the classroom and on the athletic fields.
The Wendy’s High School Heisman was created by Wendy’s founder Dave Thomas in 1994.  Thomas dropped out of high school when he was 15 years old in order to work full-time and went on to become one of the most successful entrepreneurs in history.
“It makes me feel like all of my years of playing sports and making good grades are finally paying off,” Myers said.
Wendy’s High School Heisman has honored more than 600,000 of the nation’s esteemed high school seniors who share Wendy’s values of giving back to their communities, treating people with respect, continuing education and excelling on the athletic field.
“It’s an honor to be recognized with this award,” Still said. “It shows that hard work on the field and in the classroom can lead to greater things.”
Myers and Still work hard, show passion and lead by example.
Myers is the 17-year-old daughter of Stephanie and Terry Myers. She plans to attend Delta State University on an athletic scholarship. She is a member of the SPHS fast-pitch softball team, cross-country team, Junior Civitan, Beta Club, National Honor Society and 21-Plus Club. She was also selected to the 2016 SPHS Homecoming Court.
Still is the 17-year-old son of Kelley Still and John Still. He plans to attend Northwest Mississippi Community College  before going to Southern Miss to get a degree in criminal justice and a master’s in forensic science.  He is a member of the SPHS baseball team, Junior Civitan and SPHS Student Council.
