Lady Tigers volleyball down Geenville in best of three series
The South Panola junior varsity and varsity Volleyball teams both won against the Greenville Honeybees Tuesday night.
In the JV game, South Panola won the first and third game in a best out of two series. Scoring was led by Destiny Rudd and Brinley Locke’s serving.
Good passing by Hannah Gowen, Kaylyn Cheek, Madison Upton and Anna Adams allowed for more scoring opportunities.
Coach Lewis said the junior varsity squad has put effort on the court to advance their skills in making a solid team.
Lewis said that both the junior varsity and vasity squads will be able to build progressively on these skills for next season.
The Varsity team won their match also by winning 25-13, 26-24, 25-16 in the best out of five series. Players with scoring runs were server Rachael Towles who scored several aces as Kira and Kia Coleman added a few more.
Teddera Patton and Katie McCulley made several good saves and were named players of the week.
The next match will be at home on October 4th against Greenville which is senior night and also Volley for the Cure night.
The Lady Tigers have placed third in their district which wi ll allow them to travel to the first round of the state playoffs which will start Oct. 18th.
