Van Davis McNeil

HORN LAKE – Van Davis McNeil, 82, died Sunday, June 14, 2013, at his residence.
Following his cremation handled by Twin Oakes Funeral Home, a private memorial service was held by the family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lenoir Bratton McNeil and one son, David Bratton McNeil.

Survivors include: one son, Morgan McNeil and wife, Brenda of Walls and four daughters, Susan McNeil and husband, Mike of Sardis, Len Hopbins and husband, David of Arlington, Tenn, Margie West of Batesville and Melinda Bloodworth and husband, Michael of Horn Lake; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Robert Michael Ryan

HOUSTON, Texas–Robert Michael “Bob” Ryan died at his home in Houston on June 22, 2013. He was the son-in-law of former Panola Countian Robert L. Vick.

Born in Midland, MI, on February 18, 1956, Mr. Ryan was the son of Clayton D. and Betty Jane Krinke Ryan. The family relocated to Mankato, Minn.and he graduated from Mankato High School and Gustavus Adolphus College.

While working for IBM, in Dallas, he met Suzanne Vick, and they were married on May 26, 1991. Their only child, Michael Liam Ryan, was born in 1996.

Mr. Ryan was a classically trained pianist who spent time with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra; an accomplished vocalist, who led the bass section of the Vocal Majority Chorus, in Dallas; an expert computer analyst and software developer. At the time of his death, he was a software developer for the Halliburton Company, in Houston.

Interment will be in Le Sueur, Minn., where his parents, grandparents, and greatgrandparents are buried.
