SARAH-Thomas Lawrince King, Sr., 80, died at his home in Sarah on April 7, 2012. Mr. King was Methodist and a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by one son Tommy King of Longtown; one stepdaughter, Bobbie Jean Little of Longtown; one stepson, Jerry Dover of Pope; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Wednesday, April 11 with Ray -Nowell Funeral Home in charge. Burial was in Friendship Cemetery in Como.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the late Lula Earlene Wright King and his parents, the late Thomas Bedford King and Lou Emma Pritchard King.
BATESVILLE– Charlie Pollard, 75, died Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at his residence in Batesville. He was a native of Quitman County and born to Sylvester and Carrie Jones Pollard. He was a retired maintance man and a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. He loved to work on cars and fix things around the house.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, April14 at Macedonia MB Church in Batesville. Rev. Zannie Leland, Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery. Kenneth I. Roberson Funeral Home of Sardis is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be Friday from 12 noon to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Baldwin Pollard of Batesville; four daughters, Mary Pollard of Sardis, Jeanette Dowdy, Darlene Dowdy and Gloria Dowdy, all of Kankakee, Ill.; three sons, Derrick Pollard of Batesville, Willie Dowdy and David Dowdy, both of Kankakee; four sisters, Severia Sullivan, Lula Lee Pollard, Carrie Riley, and Mattie Grover, all of Batesville; four brothers, Sylvester Pollard, Jr. and James Pollard, both of Batesville, Marshall Pollard of Olive Branch and Arthur Pollard of Cordova, Tenn.; 19 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
BATESVILLE–Charles Ray Tutor, 64, died April 9, 2012, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center in Batesville.
Funeral services were held at Thursday at Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Eugene Howell and Reverend Dale Beavers officiating. Burial was in Forrest Memorial Park.
Mr. Tutor was born to the late James Corbett and Margaret Woods Tutor on September 22, 1947 in Batesville. He worked as a millwright for Acme Frames in Tutwiller for 35 years. He was a Baptist.
He is survived by his wife, Betty J. Boyett Tutor of Batesville; daughter, Tracie Ann Tutor Smith of Batesville; two sons, Charles Bryan Tutor of Batesville and Richard Corbett Tutor of Pontotoc; three sisters, Martha Kay Tutor Hutchings of Batesville, Robbie Ann Tutor Saxon of Bolivar, Tenn. and Connie Tutor McCullar of Independence; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
