The North Delta junior high girls knew the task at hand going into Tuesday’s  showdown with first place Indianola: win by more than five points and claim the number one seed heading into  the district tournament or finish runner-up in the standings.

Trailing 11-6 after one quarter of play, the Green Wave got their offense going by outscoring the visiting Indianola 26-17 in the second half to take a 43-35 victory to earn a share of the regular season championship with the Colonels. North Delta played West Memphis last night in the second round of the district tournament at Indianola with the winner advancing to play the Indianola/ Kirk winner Saturday night for the district championship at 6 p.m. The score was not available at press time.

The North Delta junior high boys meanwhile came away victorious with a 40-22 victory over Indianola. Renic Greenlee led the way  with 18 points.

The Jr. High boys had to face Indianola again in the district tournament Wednesday night. The Green Wave fell 44-38 and thus ended their season.
