SUMNER– Sherry Pugh, 60, died Thursday, March 5, 2009, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Desoto. She was the mother of Pamela Griffin and mother-in-law of husband, Chris of Batesville.

Services were Saturday at Sumner Church of God. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home had charge.

Pugh graduated from West Tallahatchie High School and attended Molars Cosmetology. She was a member of Sumner Church of God.

Survivors along with her daughter include: one son, Hershel L. Pugh and his wife, Jennifer of Sumner; two sisters, Ann Bailey  and her husband, Carl of Sardis and Jane Pugh of Sumner and six grandchildren, Colby, Ceciley, Madison, Kaitlin, Vas and Dawson.

Juanita F. Richardson

BATESVILLE– Juanita F. Richardson, 76, died Sunday, March 8, 2009, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi.

Services are today at 2 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home. Burial will be in Forrest Memorial Park. Rev. Jerry Hill, Rev. Lucion Young and Rev. Todd Pittman will officiate. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Wells Funeral Home has charge.

Richardson, born Oct. 10, 1932, to the late Johnny and Beatrice Sims French, was employed at Roper Luggage Company until they closed. She then went to work for Lawnboy as a line supervisor. For over 10 years she was a substitute teacher at South Panola High School.

She was a member of the Goodwill Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her husband A.L. Richardson Sr.

Survivors include: three daughters, Diane R. Heafner and Debbie R. Bell, both of Courtland and Shirley R. Putman of Batesville; one son, Alford Richardson Jr. of Batesville; one brother James Edward French of Jackson; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mary Elizabeth May Wilson

ASHLAND– Mary Elizabeth May Wilson, 87, died Saturday, March 7, 2009, at Briarcrest Extended Care. She was the mother of Dub Wilson and wife Patty of Courtland.

Services were Monday at Ashland Baptist Church. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. McBride Funeral Home had charge.

Chad Thompson and Matt Thompson officiated.

Wilson, born to the late William Biver and Jeanetta Elizabeth Simpson May, was retired from the Benton County School system and a member of Ashland Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leroy Wilson.

Survivors along with her son include: one daughter, Pam Thompson and her husband Ronny of Hickory Flat; two sons, Jimmy Wilson and his wife, Jinnie of Oxford and David Wilson and his wife, Angie of Collierville; one brother, Seth May and his wife, Wilma of Ashland; eight grandchildren, Chris Wilson, Mitch Wilson, Davie Wilson, Drew Wilson, Hollie Hayes, Gabrielle Wilson, Chad Thompson and Matt Thompson and eight great-grandchildren.
