Dorothy Cook Aldridge

SLEDGE– Dorothy Cook Aldridge, 71, died Tuesday, February 17, 2009, at her residence.

Services were Friday at Kimbro Funeral Home. Charles Brewer officiated. Burial was in Longtown Cemetery. Kimbro Funeral Home had charge.

Aldridge, born Feb. 16, 1938, was a member of Hollywood Baptist Church and a retired grocery store clerk.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Aldridge.

Survivors include: two daughters, Kathy Willard of Sarah and Amy Selby of Sledge; two sons, Lonnie Aldridge and Jeffrey Alridge, both of Sledge; one brother, Leonard Riley Cook of Southaven; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.


David R. Maness

COMO– David R. Maness, 71, died Sunday, February 22, 2009, at his residence.

Wells Funeral Home has charge.

Maness, born Nov. 4, 1937, to Louie T. and Lora Mayes Maness in Darden, Tenn., was a fuel tankerman for Southern Towing. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War.

Survivors include: two sisters, Peggy M. Theis and Barbara J. Counts, both of Madison and one brother, Raymond Maness of Corinth.

Milton Harry Tucker

POPE– Milton Harry Tucker, 82, died Wednesday, February 18, 2009, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi.

Memorial services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Wells Funeral Home has charge.

Tucker, born May 6, 1926, in Memphis, to the late Maynard and Annie Mae Tant Tucker, was a retired self-employed welder. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Water Valley and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

Survivors include: his wife, Billie Lee Tucker of Pope; two daughters, Melanie Lynch of Oxford and Deborah Edmiston of Cordova; one son, Danny Tucker of Memphis and one sister, Alice Tucker Colley of Enid.
