Audrey Reed Furdge

HORN LAKE- Audrey Reed Furdge, 38, formerly of Sledge, died Tuesday, October 21, 2008, at her residence.

Services are Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Phillips M.B. Church in Crenshaw. Pastor Larry Cozart will officiate.  Visitation is today noon – 7:30 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary. Cooley’s Mortuary has charge.

Furdge, born May 21, 1970, in Chicago to Ella McComb Shields of Crenshaw and the late Isaac Reed, was a black jack dealer for Horshoe Casino and a member of St. Phillips M.B. Church.
Survivors along with her mother include: her husband, Marvin Furdge of Horn Lake; one sister, Verna Pickins of Sledge and Aubrey Reed of Sledge.

NESBIT- Ralph W. Gordon, 74, died Thursday, October 16, 2008. He was a retired principal from Memphis City Schools and was a member and deacon at Whitehaven Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Norma Morris Gordon, formerly of Batesville.

Services were Tuesday at Forest Hill East Funeral Home. Burial was in Forest Hill East Cemetery. Forest Hill East Funeral Home had charge.

Survivors along with his wife include: two sons, Monty Gordon of Cordova, Scott Gordon of Nesbit; six grandchildren; two brothers, Allen Gordon of Wichita, Kan., Albert Gordon of San Angelo, Texas and two sisters, Faye Daniels and Peggy Cline, both of Hernando.

The family request, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Whitehaven Baptist Church.

Glenn Lucas Lamar

LAMBERT- Glenn Lucas Lamar, 60, died Sunday, October 16, 2008, at Chatuge Regional Hospital in Hiawasee, Ga.

Services are today at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Lambert. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery in Clarksdale. Rev. Don O’Quinn and Rev. Charles Simmons will officiate. Wells Funeral Home has charge.

Lamar, born Nov. 30, 1947, in Quitman County, to Kathryn Savage Lamar of Lambert and the late Percie Lee Lamar Jr., was the owner of Blue Ridge Mountain Land Development Company. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lambert.

Survivors along with his mother include: his wife, Kathy Califf Lamar of Young Harris, Ga.; one son, William Glenn Lamar of Columbus; two sisters, Evan Lamar Parks and husband, Enoch of Oxford and Carolyn Lamar Dancy and husband, Chris of Lambert; one brother, Percie Lee Lamar III and wife, Caroline of Olive Branch; four nieces, Anna Kathryn Dawson, Delia Childers, Donna McCormack and Emily Lamar; four nephews, Adam Dancy, Lauren Dancy, Adyn Dancy and Bryce Dancy; three great-nieces and three great-nephews.

Memorials can be sent to the Juvenile Diabetes Assoc.
