Dorothy P. Bogue

BATESVILLE–Dorothy P. Bogue, 89, formerly of Birmingham, Ala., died Saturday, March 8, 2008, in Oxford.

Graveside services are today at 11 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, Ala. Elmwood Funeral Home had charge.

Bogue, born April 20, 1918, was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Batesville.

Survivors include: one daughter, Rhandy R. Smith and husband, Don Smith of Batesville and one granddaughter, Summer L. Smith of Dallas, Texas.

The family requests that memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church, Building Fund, 119 Panola Ave., Batesville.


Billie Glenn Eidson

SARDIS–Billie Glenn Eidson, 76, died Saturday, March 8, 2008, at Grenada Lake Medical Center.

Services were Monday at Ray Nowell Chapel in Sardis. Rev. Dewayne Warren officiated. Burial was in Batesville Magnolia Cemetery. Dickins Funeral Home had charge.

Eidson, born Oct. 19, 1931, in Dundee, to the late William E. Eidson and the late Glennie Miles Eidson, was a marine serving in the Korean War. He was also retired from the railroad.

Survivors include: one daughter, Donna Fay Ward of Georgia and one brother, Harmon Eidson of Noxapater.

Robert Eugene Hendrix

BATESVILLE–Robert Eugene Hendrix, 87, died Saturday, March 8, 2008, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi.

Services are Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church.  Visitation is 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.  at  Moore-Nowell Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Church Cemetery. Dickins Funeral Home has charge.

Hendrix, born June 23, 1920, to the late William Thomas Hendrix and the late Felister Ophelia Bankston Hendrix, was a Mason and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII. He was also employed with the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Survivors include: his wife, Dorothy Mae Hall Hendrix of Oxford; one daughter, Wanda Ray Williams of Batesville; one son, Robert Edward Hendrix and wife, Becky of Shannon; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
 

N.A. Lundgren Jr.

SARDIS–N.A. Lundgren Jr., 86, died Thursday, March 6, 2008, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi.

Services were Saturday at Ray-Nowell Funeral Home Chapel in Sardis. Rev. Dana Goff officiated. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Ray-Nowell Funeral Home had charge.

Lundgren, born Sept. 6, 1921, in Sardis, to the late Niles Agart Lundgren Sr. and Mary Katherine Anderson Lundgren was self-employed.

Survivors include: his wife, Margaret Lundgren; one daughter, Betty Ann Luther; one son, Niles Lee Lundgren of Sardis; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Sardis United Methodist Church.

Nora Lavelle Joiner

SARDIS–Nora Lavelle Joiner, 78, died Thursday, March 6, 2008, at Golden Living Center.

Services were Saturday at Ray-Nowell Funeral Home. Rev. Jerry Sanford officiated. Burial was in Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Ray-Nowell Funeral Home had charge.

Joiner, born Jan. 1, 1930, in Pope, to the late William A. Ware and Minnie Mae, was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Lee Joiner.

Survivors include: one daughter, Ruth Ann Dunlap of Coldwater; three sons, Richard Joiner of Southaven, Jimmy Joiner of Raleigh, N.C. And Bennie Joiner of Sardis; two sisters, Carol Bryant of Marks and Melva Bray of Southaven; three brothers, Harold Ware of Batesville, Shannon Ware of Pope and Monty Ware of Batesville and six grandchildren.


Nona Iris Grisham Norman

SENATOBIA–Nona Iris Grisham Norman, 93, died Sunday, March 9, 2008, at Senatobia Convalescent Center.

Services are Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Cutshall-Iuka Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation is today 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Cutshall Iuka Funeral Home. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery in Iuka. Ray-Nowell Funeral Home has charge.

Norman, born Dec. 14, 1914, to the late Charlie Grisham and the late Mamie Gardner Grisham, was a homemaker and a member of New Salem Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Peyton Norman.

Survivors include: one daughter, Frances N. King of Sardis; one son, Fred T. Norman of Senatobia; three sisters, Mary Lou Bugg, Joan Woods and Jean Tigner; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.


Vivian Heard Page

BATESVILLE–Vivian Heard Page, 93, died Sunday, March 9, 2008, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center.

Services are today at 2 p.m. at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. Rev. Taylor Moore will officiate. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Oxford. Visitation is today 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. Coleman Funeral Home has charge.

Page was a retired music teacher who lived at Hermitage Gardens in Oxford.

Survivors include: three daughters, Martha Watt of Batesville, Paula Page of Saratosa, Fla. and Linda Neelly of Storrs, Conn.; one sister, Dorothy Heard of Oxford; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.


Evelyn Bailey Rose

HORSESHOE BEND, Ark.– Evelyn Bailey Rose, 76, died Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at Cornerstone Rehabilitation in Corinth.

Services were Friday at Wells Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Forrest Memorial Park. Wells Funeral Home had charge.

Rose, born Feb. 10, 1932, in Attalla County, to the late Stonewall Jackson and Retha Lee Vowell Bailey, was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband Tommy Rose.

Survivors include: one daughter, Debra Mayhan Owings of Memphis; three sons, Rick Mayhan of Rienzi, David A. Mayhan of Horseshoe Bend, Ark. and Bill W. Wicks of Boulder, Colo.; two brothers, Jack Bailey of Crowder and Larry Bailey of Batesville; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.


Marlene Ivy Schiele

MARKS–Marlene Ivy Schiele, 76, died Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg.

Services were Saturday at First Baptist Church in Lambert. Burial was in Lambert Cemetery. Kimbro Funeral Home had charge.

Schiele, born April 9, 1931, in Darling, to Louise Turner Ivy Davis of Marks and the late Johnny Albert Ivy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lambert, a secretary and a bookkeeper.

She was preceded in death by her husband, R.H. Schiele.

Survivors  along with her mother, include: one son, Bob Schiele of Marks; one daughter, Rhonda Newton of Vicksburg; two brothers, Stanley and William Ivy of Chicago, Ill.; one sister, Jean Tedford of New Rose, La. and three grandchildren.
