Frank Oran Cannon

CROWDER––Frank Oran Cannon, 78, died Saturday, February 23, 2008, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi.

Services were Monday at Crowder Assembly of God. Murphy Eubank officiated.  Burial was in Crowder Cemetery. Kimbro Funeral Home had charge.

Cannon, born Jan. 25, 1930, was a member of Crowder Assembly of God. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in Korea. He was also a commercial fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella Hitchcock Cannon.

Survivors include: two daughters, Sharon Bryant of Morton and Joanne Matthews of Batesville; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Crowder Assembly of God.
 

A.B. Henderson

ENID––A.B. Henderson, 68, died Thursday, February 21, 2008, at his residence.

Services are Saturday at 2 p.m. at Persimmon Hill M.B. Church in Enid. Rev. T.A. Lawrence will officiate. Visitation will be today 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. At Cooley’s Mortuary. Burial will be in Persimmon Hill Cemetery. Cooley’s Mortuary has charge.

Henderson, born Aug. 14, 1939, in Batesville, to the late Cecil Henderson and Burnell Hentz, was a self-employed truck driver and a member of Parrish Grove M.B. Church.

Survivors include: his companion and caregiver, Barbara Henderson of Enid; five daughters, Diane Henderson Birks of Grenada, Mary Nell Henderson of Oakland, Margaret Henderson Thomas and Michelle Henderson Street, both of Enid, and Debra Henderson Ascencio of Atlanta, Ga.; one son, Alvin Henderson of Oakland; one step-daughter, Alisha Bland of Oakland; two step-sons, Larry Ray Moore of Oakland and Jerry Moore of Pompano Beach, Fla.; one sister, Irma Nell Rahman of Cleveland, Ohio; four brothers, William Henderson, Donald Henderson, Clyde Henderson and Elvin Henderson all of Cleveland, Ohio; 25 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.


Clarence Jenning

COMO––Clarence Jenning, 73, died Monday, February 25, 2008, at his residence.

Services were Wednesday at Cistern Hill M.B. Church. Burial was in Cistern Hill Cemetery. Felix Cauthen Funeral Home had charge.

Jenning was a member of Cistern Hill M.B. Church and a retired factory worker.

Survivors include: his wife, Mossie Jones Jenning; five daughters, Alma Walton of Sardis, Delois Carter of Batesville, Velma Cox, Emma Jenning and Ruby Callicut, all of Como; one son, Willie Earl Jenning of Senatobia; one sister, Velma Ford of Memphis; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.


Elizabeth Williams “Bibo” Spaur

BATESVILLE––Elizabeth Williams “Bibo” Spaur, 75, died Tuesday, February 26, 2008, at her residence.

Memorial services are today at 2 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home Chapel. John Howell Jr. will officiate. Wells Funeral Home has charge.

Spaur, born March 24, 1932, to the late Alonzo Jordan and Minnie Elizabeth Ellett Williams, was a member of North Batesville Baptist Church and a seamstress.

Survivors include: one daughter, Dianne Buckingham of Carbondale, Colo.; one brother, Regionald Williams of Batesville and one grandson, Jeremy Graham of Aspen, Colo.

The family requests that memorials be made to Quail Run Group Home, 109 Maple Lane, Batesville.

Diane Rose Williams

BATESVILLE––Diane Rose Williams, 41, died Wednesday, February 20, 2008, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center.

Services were Thursday at Clear Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Oxford. Rev. Eddie D. Goliday Sr. officiated. Burial was in Yocona Cemetery in Taylor. Kenneth I. Roberson Funeral Home of Pontotoc had charge.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Murray Williams and Maudie Carothers Williams.

Survivors include: three daughters, Melissa Pegues, Barbara Williams and LaShonda Williams, all of Batesville; two sisters, Linda Wright of Batesville and Nancy Brown of Oxford; three brothers, James Williams, Charles Carothers and Willie Williams, all of Oxford; a granddaughter she adopted and two grandchildren.
