SPJV fastpitch shuts out Senatobia 6-0

The South Panola fast pitch junior varsity team trampled the Senatobia Warriors Monday night with a final score of 6-0 in the Battle for Batesville tournament.
Neither team allowed any runs in the first inning as Lady Tigers pitcher, Peyton Pearson, struck out two of four batters she faced.
Five players for the Lady Tigers made it to base in the second inning due to three walks, one hit by a pitch and a single to third base by Nautica Edwards, which drove home two runs.
In the bottom of the second, the Lady Tigers held the Lady Warriors scoreless as Pearson struck out three of four batters.
In the third inning, the Lady Tigers scored four more runs. Darbi Smith singled to second and after a walk, Kahlena Hentz singled to third, driving Smith home. A walk loaded the bases and two runners stole home.
With a score of 5-0, Jailia Jackson stepped up to the plate and found her pitch, singling past third, driving in the last run of the game.
The Lady Tigers were declared winner as time ran out on South Pontotoc in the final inning.
The Lady Tigers will face Tupelo next Tuesday at home at 5 p.m.
