Ralph Edward Alderman Jr.

ROBINSONVILLE–Ralph Edward Alderman Jr., 54, died March 8, 2016, at his home.
He was born on September 23, 1961, to Susan Proctor and Ralph E. Alderman, Sr. in Topeka, Kansas and served in the Air National Guard.
The Alderman family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. Wells Funeral Home has charge.

CHARLESTON–Loys Elwanda Morman Brewer, 93, died March 9, 2016.  Born to Tommie Jesse and Ida Mae Hemphill Morman, on March 20, 1922, near Gore Springs, she was a graduate of Wood Junior College, the University of Southern Mississippi and Mississippi State University and held an AAA certificate in home economics education from the University of Mississippi.
She taught for 46 years and was honored as the Home Economics Teacher of the Year for Mississippi in 1976.   
For 61 years she was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church where served as president of the Women’s Missionary Society and as church clerk.
Services were March 12 at Spring Hill Baptist Church. Burial was in the Brewer Family Cemetery, Oakland. Womble Funeral Home had charge.

Tony E. Chance

SARDIS–Tony E. Chance, 62, died March 13, 2016 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – DeSoto.  He was a drummer with Two Dollar General and Rebel Souls bands.
Services were held March 16 at Ray-Nowell Funeral Home in Sardis.  Interment was Longtown Cemetery.

Patricia B. Johnson

SENATOBIA–Patricia B. Johnson, 47, died March 16, 2016 in Senatobia.
She was the daughter of Annie Hardaway Booze of Sardis and was a graduate of North Panola High School.
Services will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Mt. Zion Church in Sardis. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Henderson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. Visitation will be today at the funeral home, 1-6 p.m.

Mary Jane Palmer

CROWDER– Mary Jane Palmer, 68, died Sunday March 13, 2016 at Quitman County Hospital in Marks. Services were March 16 at Kimbro Funeral Home in Marks.
Interment was in Longtown Cemetery.
Ms. Palmer was a homemaker.

Lonnie Spencer

INDEPENDENCE–Lonnie William Spencer,  43, died  March 15, 2016.
Lonnie was born May 17, 1972 to the late Lonnie Jackie Spencer and Evalene Grant Spencer in Panola County. He was as auto body repairman.

Marilyn Bland Spencer

COLDWATER–Marilyn Bland Spencer,  39, died March 15, 2016.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 17, at Wells Funeral Home in Batesville. Interment was at Magnolia Cemetery in Charleston. Reverend Alvin Whitehead officiated the service.
Born July 4, 1976 in Leland to Sarah Alice Sullivan and the late James Allen Bland, she was the office manager for Dover Trucking Co., in Sardis.

Jessie Murlee Standard

Jessie “Jr.” Murlee Standard, 84, died Friday, March 11, 2016 at his home in Batesville.  Born in Vance, MS, he was a member of Locke Station Baptist Church. He was truly devoted to his family and loved fixing anything and everything.  Funeral services were held Monday, March 14, 2016 at Dickins Funeral Home.  Interment was in Batesville Magnolia Cemetery.  Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Helen Finn Standard; daughters, Sherry Wickshire, Bonnie Mitchell (Roger) and Terri Bright (Al); sons, Chris Standard (Claudine) and Steve Standard (Debbie) ; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Dickins Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
