Lillie Mae Hester Bullard
POPE––Lillie Mae Hester Bullard, 76, died Wednesday, February 18, 2015, in Lakeland, Tenn.
Services were held Friday at Wells Funeral Home. Burial was in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Pope. Wells Funeral Home had charge.

Bullard, born March 23, 1938, to the late Arthur D. and Lillie Bell Sanders Hester, in Crowder, was the owner of Bullard’s Jeans and Things and was a bookkeeper for the family business.
Survivors include: her husband, J.C. Bullard of Pope; three daughters, Melinda Bullard Nix of Southaven, Pamela Bullard Griffing and her husband, Trey of Shreveport, La., Amy Bullard Wilkins and her husband, Jimmy of Lakeland, Tenn.; two sons, Ricky Bullard and his wife, Carol of Pope and Carl Bullard and his wife, Karin of Shreveport; one sister, Frances Hester McCain of Smithville; two brothers, John Hester of Anderson, Ind. and Paul Hester and his wife, Wanda of Marks; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. 

Terico Terell Burdette
SARDIS––Terico Terell Burdette, 24, died Sunday, February 12, 2015, at Tri-Lakes Hospital.

Services were held Saturday at North Panola High School in Sardis. Burial was in Askew Grove Cemetery in Crenshaw. Henderson Funeral Home had charge.

Burdette, born Dec. 12, 1990, in Batesville, to Leroy Burdette and Dorothy Jean Burdette of Sardis, attended North Panola High School.

Survivors along with his parents include his sister, Taurus Golden-Boyce of Germantown, Tenn.

Robert W. Moore
POPE––Robert W. “Sonny” Moore, 80, died Friday, February 20, 2015, at his residence.

Services were held Sunday at Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Pope. Burial was in Liberty Hill Cemetery. Rev. Derrick Simmons officiated. Wells Funeral Home had charge.

Moore, born Feb. 19, 1935, in Pope, to the late Chester Ray and Erma Catherine Brewer Moore, was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church where he was Sunday School Secretary and a Deacon. He served in the U.S. Army and served on the Disaster Relief Team. He worked for B and M Auto Parts for many years as machine shop operator.

Survivors include: his wife, Patricia Campbell Moore of Pope; one daughter, Denise Joy Moore of Southaven; four step-daughters, Mary Jane Campbell, Patricia Toney and Ashby Moore, all of California and Debbie Roberson of Oakland, Tenn.; son, Dennis Chester Moore of Cape Coral, Fla.; three step-sons, Mickey Campbell of Ashland, Lynn Campbell of Southaven and Randy Campbell of Pope; three sisters, Elizabeth Carter, Nancy O’Neal and Bobbie Scruggs, all of Sardis and one grandchild.

Family asks that anyone wishing to send memorial contributions to send to the donor’s choice.

Wilma K. Morrow
COFFEEVILLE–– Wilma Kathryn “Maw” Melton Morrow, 89, formerly of Batesville, died Monday, February 16, 2015 at the home of her daughter, Nancy Miller, in Oxford.

Services were held Saturday at New Hope Baptist Church, Coffeeville, Johnny Hearn officiated. Burial was in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Coleman Funeral Home had charge.

Born to the late Walter and Nancy Melton, in Carroll County, she was a homemaker and a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Coffeeville.

Survivors along with her daughter, include: a son, Jerry Lee Morrow of Batesville; three daughters, Nancy Gayle Miller of Oxford, Barbara Kathryn Black of Oxford and Brenda Joyce Rogers of Big Creek; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Lisa Ferrell Perry
BATESVILLE––Lisa Ferrell Perry, 56, died Friday, February 20, 2015.

Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Dickins Funeral Home. Rev. Brad Burnett and Dr. Bob Curtis will officiate. Visitation will be held at noon prior to services. Dickins Funeral Home has charge.

Perry, born Nov. 11, 1958, in Batesville, to Clara McMinn Ferrell of Batesville and the late Melvin Ferrell, was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church.

Survivors along with her mother include: one sister, Susan Ferrell Evans of Olive Branch and one brother, Robert Ferrell of Batesville.

James W. Strauser
COMO––James W. “Jim” Strauser, 77, died Saturday, February 14, 2015, at Valley Baptist Hospital in Harlingen, Texas.

Services will be held today at 1 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home. Burial will be in Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Wells Funeral Home has charge.

Strauser, born May 17, 1937, in Obion County, Tenn., to the late Emil Jay and Florence Dean Moore Strauser, was a graduate of Humes High School. He was one of the original bodyguards for Elvis Presley. In 1962 he joined the Memphis Fire Department and was invited to attend FBI arson training classes. He was in attendance during the MLK Jr. assassination investigation. He was a member of ACRE.

Survivors include: his wife, Billie C. Strauser of Como; one daughter, Terry Strauser of Somerville, Tenn.; one son, James T. Strauser of Millington, Tenn.; two step-daughters, Jo Ann Simmons of Oxford, Gayelyn Holland of Pontotoc; step-son, Douglas Joy of Batesville; one sister, Betty Jean Wilson of Enid; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
