Congressman Bennie Thompson will speak in Batesville Friday at the Finch-Henry Job Corps Center’s winter graduation to be held at Batesville Junior High School Auditorium.

The 2014 Winter Career Transition Period Graduation will honor 75 students who have completed career training in at least one of nine skills areas offered at the center.

Additionally students will have completed requirements for GEDs, high school diplomas and college hours.

The Congressman is serving his 11th term.

After Congressional redistricting following the 2010 Census, all of Panola County was added to Thompson’s Second Congressional District. He is the ranking member of the House Committee on Homeland Security.

The graduation will begin at 12:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 21.
