James Walter Bailey

BATESVILLE – James Walter Bailey Jr., 81, died Thursday, September 27, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi.

Services were held Monday at Dickins Funeral Home. Burial was in Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Gene Gregory and Rev. Rusty Robertson officiated. Dickins Funeral Home had charge.
Bailey, born Sept. 29, 1930, to the late James Walter Bailey Sr. and Floree Smith Bailey in Crowder, was retired from the Highway Department where he had been a road grader operator. He was a member of Locke Station Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jacquilline Bland Bailey and two sons, James Roy Bailey and Gary Dale Bailey.

Survivors include: three sons, Jimmy Dale Bailey and Randy L. Bailey, both of Courtland, Ritchie Don Bailey of Winterhaven, Fla.; two sisters, Christine Mitchell of Crowder and Jeannette Hannah of Oxford; one brother, Eugene Bailey of Tillabota; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Wallace Vivian Cochran

MEMPHIS – Wallace Vivian Cochran, 93, died Saturday, September 29, 2012, in Memphis.

Services will be held today at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Locke and Dr. Tommy Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Batesville Magnolia Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until services at 3 p.m. Wells Funeral Home has charge.

Cochran, born June 2, 1919, in Benton County, to the late Walter Grady and Mary Emily Gresham Cochran, worked for John Deere from 1949 – 1988 and then worked for Graves Oil Company from 1988 – 1995. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Batesville and the Batesville Civitan Club.

Survivors include: two daughters, Barbara Cochran Locke and husband, Charles and Betty Cochran Morrow, of Courtalnd; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Batesville Civitan Club or to the First Baptist Church in Batesville.


Pamela Gann Glover

LONGTOWN – Pamela Gann Glover, 64, died Friday, September 28, 2012, at her residence in Longtown Community of Panola.

Services were held Sunday at Ray-Nowell Funeral Home-Senatobia Chapel. Burial was in Peach Creek Cemetery in Panola. Ray-Nowell Funeral Home had charge.

Glover was a member of First Baptist Church in Sledge.

Survivors include: her husband, Bobby Glover of Longtown; one daughter, Stacy Holley of Longtown; one son, B.J. Glover of Senatobia; three brothers, Donnie Gann of Vicksburg, Ricky Gann of Longtown and Raymond Gann Jr. of Batesville and nine grandchildren.

The family has requested tat memorial contributions be sent to the Susan B. Komen Race for the Cure at the following address: Komen Memphis-MidSouth, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 75, Memphis, Tenn. 38148-0075.

Robert Milton Tidwell

ICHLAND – Robert Milton Tidwell, 91, died Sunday, September 23, 2012, at Mississippi Veterans Home in Jackson.

Services were held Tuesday, September 25 at Dickins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Forrest Memorial Park. Rev. Gary Longo and Rev. Tommy Mahan officiated. Dickins Funeral Home had charge.
Tidwell, born October 17, 1920, to the late Robert Jay Tidwell and Eula Mae Sanders in Panola, served in the United States Army during WWII and retired after 22 years of employment with Stribbling Puckett as a mechanic.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Snyder Tidwell and one son, Ronald Tidwell.

Survivors include include: two daughters, Anita Tidwell Longo and Esther Tidwell Spain, all of Richland; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
