A thunderstorm approaching rapidly from the southeast Sunday afternoon draped skirts of heavy, dark clouds as it approached Factory Stores and the new Comfort Suites under construction along I-55 in Batesville. Areas in southeast Panola County reported rainfall amounts up to seven inches during the weekend. Monday began with sunny skies but daytime heating was expected to generate more storms by late afternoon.
