Tigers down Cleveland 15-1

The South Panola Tigers ran their winning streak to four games with a 15-1 six-inning victory over Cleveland in high school baseball play Monday night.

Blake Darby registered two singles and a double while Chris Townsend also  added three hits to lead the Tigers offensive attack. Will Dickins followed  with  a pair of singles as South Panola wrapped out a season-high 14 hits.

Dashawn Lindsay drove in a run while adding a double and single. Taylor Meek contributed with a RBI double in the win. Andrew Horne, Chance Whitten and Tays Hardy all singled.

Horne pitched five innings on the mound to pick up his first victory of the season. The senior right-hander scattered three hits while walking one and striking out two. Taylor Karr tossed the final inning in relief by giving up two singles.

South Panola (5-2) travels to Senatobia tonight with the first pitch slated for 7 p.m. The Tigers will then remain on the road tomorrow as they go to Lafayette County starting at 4 p.m.

South Panola will play in the Oxford Spring Break Tournament beginning Monday morning at 11:15 a.m against Center Hill before facing New Albany at 8:15.
