Formation of a farmers market has been discussed in the past by elected officials but no action has been taken.

During the first meeting earlier this month, Farmer’s Market organizer Jennifer Tidwell presented preliminary by-laws but no action was taken.

Tidwell has said in e-mails that the coming meeting could see the formation of a board of directors.

The previous meeting was attended by 10 people, including Tidwell, and the organizer said she would like to see more people in attendance.

“We had a few growers at the last meeting, but we need to get a larger variety of growers to make this work,” she said.

Also at the initial meeting, attendees discussed possible locations for the market.

The attendees were set to speak with property owners to see about use.

“We want to make sure we have a location that is visible,” Tidwell said. “We want this to be something people will see and stop.”

Anyone interested in attending is invited to do so.
