Sara Richardson Caygle

RIPLEY­­— Sara Richardson Caygle, 72, formerly of Sardis, died Saturday, August 15, 2009.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Forest Memorial Park in Batesville. Pastor Michael Berkley will officiate. Maley-Warbrough Funeral Home in Covington, Tenn. has charge.

Caygle, born September 23, 1936, in Sardis, to the late Jennings Bryan Richardson and Daisy Lee Wilkie Richardson, was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Denis V. Caygle.

Survivors include: three daughters, Shari Sprayberry-Conrad of Ripley, Miki Ferrell and Pam Stanley, both of Memphis; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Herbert C. Jones

MARKS— Herbert C. Jones, 72, died Wednesday, August 26, 2009, at Quitman County Hospital. He was the father of Georganna Weeks and Cynthia Ann Russell, both Batesville.

Memorial services will be held today at 11 a.m. at  West Marks Baptist Church. Rev. John Shackleford will officiate. Kimbro Funeral Home has charge.

Jones, born Sept. 16, 1936, to the late Hershel Herbert Jones and Mary Odell Coggins, was a grocery store manager in Marks.

Survivors along with his daughters include: one daughter, Jane Audrey Gore of Senatobia; one son, Eddie Jones of Marks; one brother, Jerl Jones of Marks; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Napoleon Nathan Lofton Jr.

  BROADVIEW, Ill.— Napoleon Nathan Lofton Jr., 70, formerly of Sardis, died Thursday, August 20, 2009, at his residence.

Services were Thursday at Mt. Zion M.B. Church in Sardis. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Rev. Cedrick Jackson officiated. Henderson Funeral Home had charge.

Lofton, born April 29, 1939, to the late Napoleon Nathan Lofton Sr. and Lula M. Cleveland, worked for the United States Post Office and was a member of Calvary Memorial Church.

Survivors include: his wife, Bety Hill Lofton of Broadview, Ill.; two daughters, Nathalie Lofton Davis of Portage, Mich. and Debbie Lofton of Broadview, Ill. and two grandchildren.
