Eileen N. File, 65

Eileen N. File, 65, passed away early Wednesday morning, Dec. 30, 2020, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, AL. Eileen was the widow of the late Terry Don File.

A graveside service for Eileen will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Pope.

Mrs. File was born on December 19, 1947 to Howard Lee and Marie Anthony Nelson in Pope. She graduated from South Panola High School in 1966. Eileen continued her education at Northwest Jr. College followed by attending Methodist Hospital School of Nursing where she received her Registered Nursing Degree.

Eileen worked with the South Panola School System as the School Nurse for 24 years and as the Parent Coordinator for four years. After retirement, Eileen worked as a Hospice RN and Volunteer/Bereavement Coordinator for Hospice South of Batesville and as a Hospice RN for Unity Hospice. With obtaining her Certification in Death and Grief Studies, she also served as an End of Life Care Consultant and Bereavement Support Group Facilitator for Dunn, File & Schmitz, LLC.

Eileen was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Batesville, Mississippi and regularly attended Collierville First Baptist Church in Collierville, Tennessee. She also served as a leader for Explorer’s Bible Study. Eileen enjoyed traveling and reading as well as spending time with her grandchildren as often as possible.

To cherish her memory, Eileen leaves one daughter, Tina File of Oxford; one son, Keith File (Amy) of Vestavia, AL; one sister, Tommie Gallagher (Ray) of Waterford; and two grandchildren, Mary Maci File and Jack File of Vestavia, AL.
