BJH hosts Senatobia in b’ball

Batesville Jr. High hosted Senatobia in basketball action Monday night.

Batesville Jr. High seventh grade girls tied the game at six to force overtime and won 9-6.

Brittany Baker tied the game with 35.8 seconds on the clock. In overtime Raven Brown scored one point and Baker scored two points to win the game.

In the last game between these teams, they played at Senatobia and Batesville won in overtime also.

The seventh grade boys won 24-19 over Senatobia. Quendez Lee scored 10 points in the game.

The eighth grade girls lost 26-18 to Senatobia on Monday night. They played Senatobia on November 17 and won in overtime.

The eighth grade boys beat Senatobia 26-16 Monday to improve their overall record to 5-0. Tony Conner scored 13 points in the game.

He scored the first 10 to start the game before Senatobia was able to put any points up. Other scorers include Myron Powell, 4 points; C.J. Leland, 3 points; Trevor Walls, Brandon Smith and Jaylen Lee, 2 points each to finish the scoring for the Tigers.

They played in a tournament at Tupelo on November 15 and got beat by Tupelo 38-36, beat Starkville 40-37 and beat Olive Branch 51-32.

The teams return to action Monday to host Oxford at 5 p.m.

The last game before the Christmas holidays is Thursday at Grenada at 4:30 p.m.
