William “Bill” Joseph Clayton, 73, of Sardis, died Monday, Sept. 9, 2019, at his home. He was born on Oct. 2, 1945, in Memphis, to Ouida Grace Clayton and Hugh Clarence Clayton.  He was a member of the Sardis United Methodist Church and a member of the Mississippi Bar Association.

His life was celebrated with services Thursday, Sept. 12, in the Sardis Chapel of Ray-Nowell Funeral Home with Bro. Hal Johnson officiating.  Burial was at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

 

Funeral services for Julia Mae Norwood, 86, of Oakland will be held today (Sept. 13) at noon at Philadelphia Baptist Church with Pastor Columbus Bell officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery in Oakland under the direction of Cooley’s Mortuary.

She was born Sept. 13, 1932, in Indianola to Spirgeon Wiggins and Fannie Bradford. She was a retired factory worker and member of Philadelphia Baptist Church.
