Rosie Elizabeth Wray Creswell

POPE–– Rosie Elizabeth Wray Creswell, 79, died Wednesday, February 13, 2008, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Desoto.

Services are today at 3 p.m. At Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. Rev. Larry Sappington will officiate. Visitation will be at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery. Dickins Funeral Home has charge.

Creswell, born in Pope, Aug. 11, 1928, to the late Henry Wray and Maurine Flowers Maxwell Wray, was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Delma Creswell.

Survivors include: one son, David Creswell and wife, Beverly of Southaven; three daughters, Shirley Rovery and husband Leonard of Memphis, Linda Goode and husband David of Hernando and Debbie McGlothlen and husband Kevin of Olive Branch; one nephew, Danny Robertson of Yukon, Okla.; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.


Pamela Kay Tichenor

DICKINSON, Texas ––    Pamela Kay Tichenor, 55, died January 1, 2008. She was the sister of Judy Holcomb and Jean Bell of Batesville.

Services were Friday, January 4 at Dignity Memorial Bay Area Chapel in League City, Texas. Dignity Memorial Bay Area Chapel Funeral Home had charge.

Tichenor, born Jan. 25, 1952, was preceded in death by her father, James Vanley Smith.

Survivors along with her sisters include: one son, Chad Smith of Covington; two daughters, Jennifer Boro of Atlanta and Melissa Truesdale of Dickinson, Texas; her fiance, Donald Cline MD of Dickinson, Texas; her mother, Eunice Smith; two sisters, Ann Huggis of Covington and Betty Smith of Memphis; four brothers, Billy Smith of Dallas, Junior Smith of Millington, Tenn., Micky Smith of Atlanta and Jimmy Smith of Covington and  four grandchildren.


James Leroy Sanford

COURTLAND–– James Leroy Sanford, 87, died Sunday, February 10, 2008, at Veterans Administration Hospital.

Services are Saturday at 2 p.m. at Salem M.B. Church in Courtland. Pastor Larry Itsom will officiate. Burial will be in Eureka Cemetery. Visitation will be today 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary and Saturday 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. at Salem M.B. Church. Cooley’s Mortuary has charge.

Sanford, born Nov. 18, 1920, in Courtland, to the late George Sanford and the late Laura Ford, was a retired factory worker, a member of Salem M.B. Church where he was an usher and a member of Masonic Pope Lodge No. 445-A. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include: his wife, Laura D. Sanford of Courtland; five daughters, Mary Frances Sanford and Earlene Sanford, both of Courtland, Glenda Hollman of Southaven, Sandra Walker of Memphis and Brenda Cosby of Chicago; three sons, Willie James Sanford and George Sanford, both of Courtland and Timothy Smalley of Maple, Italy; two sisters, Lucindy Harrison of Courtland and Urna L. Sanford of Batesville; five brothers, Otto Sanford, Lindsey Sanford Sr. and Lewis Sanford, all of Courtland, Sidney Sanford of Batesville and Baker Sanford of Minneapolis, Minn.; 23 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
