EARNEST, Bradley Brooks
    
MARKS – Bradley Brooks Earnest, 42, died Monday, January 23, 2006, at North Medical Center in Slidell, La.
     Services are today at 11 a.m. West Marks Baptist Church. Brother Mike Smithey and Brother Tim Mims, will be officiating. Kimbro Funeral Home has charge.
     Earnest, born Oct. 19, 1963, was owner of Hoppergrass Lawn Care and was presently employed installing FEMA trailers in Slidell, La.
     Survivors include one son Bradley Jones Earnest of Marks; parents, Brooks and Carol Earnest of Marks; one sister Cheryl Howard of Charleston; two brothers, Shayne Earnest of Charleston and Jeremy Earnest of Horn Lake; one niece and one nephew.
     The family requests memorials be sent to West Marks Baptist Church Youth Camp Fund or Fairland Center in Dublin.


EDWARDS, Ben Allen
    
SARDIS- Ben Allen Edwards, 67, died Wednesday, November 29, 2006, at his residence.
     Services were Saturday at Morris Chapel M.B. Church in Sardis. Rev. L.H. Harris officiated. Burial was in the Morris Chapel M.B. Church Cemetery. Henderson Funeral Home had charge.
     Edwards, born Jan. 4, 1939, to the late Will E. Edwards and the late Ida M. Fox, attended Panola County Schools and was a retired factory worker. He was also a member of Morris Chapel M.B. Church.
     Survivors include: his wife, Mary L. Edwards of Sardis; three daughters, Martha Jenkins, Renee Edwards and Tess Edwards, all of Sardis; four sons, Will Edwards, Norman Edwards, Dwight Edwards and Fred Edwards, all of Sardis, and four sisters, Willie Mae Leke, Fannie Lee Edwards, Leverda Miles and Marie Hannah, all of Sardis.

ELLIS, Alcie Mae Roberson
    
BATESVILLE – Alcie Mae Roberson Ellis, 82, died Wednesday, June 7, 2006, at her residence.
     Services are Sunday at 12:30 p.m. at Rock Hill M.B. Church in Sardis. Rev. James Buchanan will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery in Sardis. Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Cooley’s Mortuary. Cooley’s Mortuary has charge.
     Ellis was born Oct. 15, 1923, in Sardis, to the late Ellis Roberson Sr. and the late Claretta Tyler Roberson. She was a retired custodian for Panola County Health Department and a member of Rock Hill M.B. Church in Sardis.
     Survivors include three daughters, Mable Trantham of Courtland, Clara Reed of Los Angeles, Calif. and Dosie Andrews of Batesville; two sons, Wesley Ellis and Calvin Campbell, both of Batesville; one sister Pearlena Douglas of Sardis; two brothers E.L. Roberson of Sardis and Leroy Roberson of Gary, Ind.; 13 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren.


ELLIS, Margaret Ruth
    
BATESVILLE- Margaret Ruth Ellis, 75, died Sunday, January 15, 2006, at Quitman County Hospital in Marks.
     Services are today at 11 a.m. at Enon Baptist Church. Rev. Rusty Fair will officiate. Burial will be in Crowder Cemetery. Kimbro Funeral Home has charge.
     Ellis, born Sept. 6, 1930, in Crowder, was a member of Enon Baptist Church.
     Survivors include her husband, Maurice Ellis of Batesville; one son Dexter Maurice Ellis of Batesville; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.


ELLIS, Olivette B.
    
SARDIS – Olivette B. Ellis, 99, died Thursday, April 20, 2006, at her residence.
     Services are Wednesday at noon at Miles Chapel C.M.E. Church in Sardis. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Felix Cauthen Funeral Home has charge.
     Ellis was a Sunday school teacher, superintendent of Sunday school, a teacher for the Panola County school system, on the Missionary Society and a member of the Heroines of Jericho for 60 years.
     Survivors include one step-daughter, Estella Hoofe of Chicago; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
