Willie Dee

Willie Dee, 97,  died Friday, November 25, 2016 at Oxford Health and Rehab Center in Oxford.
Services will be held today at 10 a.m. at Flint Hill M.B. Church in Etta.  Burial will be in church cemetery. L. Hodges Funeral Services of Oxford has charge.

Sylvia J. Gordon-Leidy

Sylvia J. Gordon-Leidy, age 74, died November 22, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital of North Miss.
The family will hold a celebration of life for Sylvia at a  later date in Tyler, Texas.
She was born January 30, 1942, in Houston, Texas, to the late Louis Justin Hassell and Gladys Marie Davenport Hassell and worked for over 22 years with the American Arabian Horse Association in Colorado.

James Carlton Perkins

James Carlton Perkins, age 69, husband of Barbara Perkins, passed away after a short battle with cancer, November 26, 2016, at his home near Batesville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 29 at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Batesville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service Tuesday at the church. Interment will follow the service at Shady Grove Cemetery. Reverend Tim McMillen will officiate.
James was born August 18, 1947 in Oxford to the late Tracy Perkins and Odell Cannon Perkins. He worked for TVEPA as a Right of Way Superintendent for 43 and 1/2 years. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and 4-Lakes Camping Club.
Those left behind to cherish his loving memory include his wife, Barbara Harrison Perkins of Batesville; sons, R. Todd Perkins (Jeanette) of Oxford, Timothy W. Perkins (Vanessa) of Hollandale, and James Sean Perkins (Bridgette) of Batesville; brothers, Orville G. Robertson of Oxford, and Jerry G. Perkins of Batesville; grandchildren, Heather Carpenter of Batesville, Haley Perkins of Oxford, Max Perkins of Hollandale, McKenzie Perkins of Batesville, and Brody Perkins also of Batesville.
The family asked that memorials be sent to The Palmer Home for Children. P.O. Box 929, Hernando, MS 38632.

Dorothy Mae Douglas Taylor

SARDIS––Dorothy Mae Douglas Taylor, 75, died Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at North Delta Hospice in Southaven.
Services were held Sunday at Cedar Grove M.B. Church in Sardis. Burial was in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Felix Cauthen Funeral Home had charge.
