Linda Vanlandingham Bayer, 76

Linda Vanlandingham Bayer,  76, passed away at her home in Batesville on Saturday, March 16, 2024, after a short illness.

Linda is survived by two daughters, Angie Carlisle of Sardis, and Carol (Rick) Ashby of Marks; two stepchildren, Allen Bayer and September Reece of Memphis; two sisters, Judy Vanlandingham and Susan Vanlandingham Camp, both of Batesville; three brothers, Jack Vanlandingham (Bobbie) of Leland, NC and Johny Vanlandingham (Angie) and Richard Martin of Somerville, TN; a host of nieces and nephews, extended family and friends, as well as her grandchildren and great- grandchildren who she adored.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck Bayer, a son, Sammy Lewis Hazzard Johnson, a son-in-law, Greg Carlisle, her parents, Hattie Sue Adair and Ernest and Lorene Vanlandingam, and brothers Jerry, Robert and David Vanlandingham and “Buttons” Martin, as well as a sister, Brenda Brown.

There will be a Celebration of Life held at Locke Station Baptist Church on Saturday, March 23.  Visitation will be from noon until 1 p.m., with the service at 1 p.m. There will be a meal to follow.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Linda’s name to the Panola County Humane Society or Operation Christmas Child.
